Forage Walk & First Aid Workshop

Foraging Walk (2 hours)

The foraging walk will be a two-hour walk around different habitats around Dalkeith Country Park. We will cover the edible, medicinal and poisonous properties of many of our common wild plants. There will be opportunities to smell them, taste them and learn how to prepare them at home, as well as discovering some traditional uses and folklore. The walks will be along main pathways, and we will be walking at a slow pace stopping regularly to talk about the plants, so wrap up warm! All welcome.

First Aid with Plants Workshop (2 hours)

Join us in the afternoon on our interactive First Aid workshop as we discover which of our common wild plants are most useful in first aid situations as well as how to prepare them in times of need.

Foraging off the land and coast was a natural way of life for our Primal ancestors. In today’s society, a trip the superstore to feed yourself and your family has become the norm. It takes a good knowledge of local plants as well as the ability to actually correctly identify and gather them to help save and preserve life. To learn more about the wild edible & medicinal plants and remote First Aid Survival skills come visit Primal Bushcraft & Survival and learn how to save and preserve life in the wilderness.
