About this course
The art of heating and cooling metals and forging them into something useful has been a time-honored tradition with Blacksmiths throughout the ages. Join us on our Primal Forge – Blacksmiths skills course where we will give you the training from a Master Blacksmith to Forge your own item out of steel to take home with you.
Located just outside Glasgow we take you to a real working Blacksmiths Forge where you will design and craft your very own item. From Viking knives to Fire Steels, arrowheads or a bespoke item of your choice.
Each course covers a wide range of techniques, skills and abilities and is suitable for both the absolute beginner and those with previous experience. The student will work out their own design then learn about the fire, the anvil, learning to use both a handheld hammer and a power hammer, the end result being an item forged by the student which can be taken home.
The course starts and 9.30am and finishes around 5pm.
