About this course

Come and learn the skills of our Primal ancestors at Duncarron Medieval Fort in an area of outstanding natural beauty.  During your wild weekend you will learn about wilderness living and survival skills to provide an introduction to the skills and techniques of our Primal ancestors.

No previous bushcraft experience is required for this course.  You will learn the principles of survival, how to safely use a knife and saw, different methods of fire lighting, how to construct improvised shelters, how to identify wild flora and fauna, how to source water and purify it and much more.

The course starts at 10:00 on Saturday and we aim to have you away by mid-afternoon the following day.  You will have the opportunity to make your own improvised shelter, but tents and hammocks are welcome.

  • A night under the stars in your own survival shelter or bring your own tent/ hammock.

What's not included

All equipment will be provided for this course.  

Depending on weather, it's sensible to come in clothes suitable for possibly wet and muddy conditions.
